Our Freesat DTR94 and Freesat DSI86 HD ranges offer the use of BBC iPlayer which can be accessed via one of the BBC channels by pressing the red button and selecting 'BBC iPlayer' in the menu that will open on the right side of the screen.

If you experience any difficulties when trying to use this feature please check below steps:

    1) Ethernet cable
Make sure that your set-top box is connected to your router via Ethernet
cable and double-check that the cable is not damaged.

    2) Software version
Make sure that your unit is running on the latest software version by
checking MENU - INFORMATION - RECEIVER. The most recent version
and a clear demonstration video of how to upload the software can be
found in our support section on www.sagemcomdigital.co.uk.

    3) Internet connection
Make sure that your internet connection is working. This can be quickly
checked with a laptop. Firewall settings in particular can block the
network access of your set-top box so make sure they are set correctly.

Alternatively you can watch our BBC iPlayer support videos on https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... where one of my colleagues will guide you through some simple but effective procedures to get you back on track with BBC iPlayer.

If you prefer to talk to one of our technical experts directly, please don't hesitate to contact us on 08450 900 316 (local call rate).

    Kind regards,

    Donald

      Dear Shaun,

We are currently working on a new Freesat model that will most likely come with Wifi support.

      Kind regards,

Is there any way to stop "Getting Ready to play" then nothing? I have BT infinity at over 10mb tested (speedtest.net).

      Hi Lez

Thanks for calling our support team on 08450 900 316.

As you are able to use the iPlayer on your laptop with the same cable & connections the constant 'Getting ready to play' message has been identified as an individual problem with your unit.

I am positive that a replacement box will get you up and running

      Best regards

      Vik

I have a Sagem DTR94259S box and have updated the software to 1.0.4 and plugged in the broadband via a netgear xeps103 powerline unit. This works ok when connected to my laptop. I go to channel 901 which is the iplayer channel but then nothing. I checked the network settings and it has a valid ip address from my router. Any ideas what I can do?

Dear Alan, I have merged your question into this already existing main thread which explains the iPlayer features. Judging from your description it looks like you have tried to access it via channel 901 which does not work. You need to select one of the BBC channels, wait for the red button icon in the right corner and press the red button. A menu will then allow you to connect to the iPlayer. Kind regards, Donald

I have just bought a DSI86HD freesat receiver and I'm trying to use the iplayer. The box is telling me to update the software. I have tried doing this via an ethernet connection and USB. Both fail with an Er09 being displayed. The ethernet is working OK since this is working with a Wii I've used previously. I'm a bit dissapointed since I bought this reciever so I could use the iplayer and itvplayer.

    Dear Mr Parker,

    Thank you for your post.

    If you check the software version running on the box;
Menu - Technical Information - Receiver Information - Under SW Version it should state which version you have.

The software version 1.1.4 is being broadcast over the air at the moment, but should you have this version already then I suggest that you check the iplayer help posts here.

If not I recommend that you contact our friendly professional helpdesk on 0845 0900 316 and they can assist you.

    Kindest Regards

    Marcus

    indifferent I’m Concerned
Bought 2 dsi86 hd freesat boxes and none of the Ethernet ports are working. BBC iplayer is not working. You might suggest check cables and router! Everything works fine with other devices.
    Any suggestions?

    Dear thijscalvache,

I have merged your request into this thread that already deals with all sorts of questions regarding the Ethernet port and iPlayer feature.

Please check the 3 steps that I have pointed out in my official response (first reply in this thread), including the checking of your software version! If your unit does not run on v1.1.4 you won't be able to run iPlayer until you have performed the upgrade.

If this does not resolve your problem please come back to me.

    Kind regards,

    Donald

I bought the set top box yesterday, everything is fantastic but the Iplayer won't work.
I have checked all your advice and also on Freesat website, the IP address etc is showing in the menu. I have just checked with BT and my Broadband is suitable. Bought new cables today and had them checked.
Now what can I do ? please help it is the main reason I bought the FreeSat box.

I've got the iplayer up and running but it often jumps forward a minute or two. I have installed the latest sofware. The jumps occur randomly. My internet connection is fine with a speed of 4.3mbps. It gets very annoying having to rewind and start the iplayer again.

    sad I’m annoyed.
I have a DSI86HD which works very well on Freesat. However the iplayer jumps ahead when programmes are on for a while. When this first happens it carries on doing it randomly through the rest of the programme. It's quite annoying and spoils a quiz show! The broadband is up to speed (4.8 - 5.0Mbps) and is stable. I have downloaded the latest software. What else can I try?

Hi, when i try to connect to BBC iPlayer on 901 the machine states 'devide is not connected' - yet the lead is definitely connected ok and the same (new) ethernet lead connected to my laptop is always ok.

If i try to update the software with a USB stick i can't get the machine to take it - it always starts on 'Boot' instead of '8888' as suggested on the help site.

If i try to get the machine to update the software from the menu - it states 'none available'.

Where do you think the problem lies?

    Thanks,

    Richard
