Why is my Freeview box missing channels?
why is it that when I do a automatic channel search, I lose Sky news, and the only way I can get it back again is by doing a manual search of channel 57 only?

Hello Martin Jones
This can happen possibly due to MUX C not sending on full power as compared to other Muxes so the particular channel in question does not get easily detected.
You can check the reception in your area on http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodech... and get detailed information regarding signals available on different Muxes.
In order for us to be of greatest assistance, you can also contact our support team on 08450 900 316 (local call rate) as they will perform some troubleshooting and get detailed information to know the exact cause of this issue and advise accordingly.
Thanks & best regards

My RTI90-500T2 will not find or show any channels below channel 10, If I press 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4 etc..) and press OK it takes me straight to channel 10.
While on channel 10, if I press “Prog – “ instead of being taken to channel 9 as expected I get taken to channel 830 (BBC World Service)
In the guide menu there is no listing below 10.
I’ve performed a retune over 30 times but still get no joy.
All my other Freeview boxes are working perfectly, I’ve even re-connected my old Humax PVR-9300T500 back up, connected to the same TV etc. and that working perfectly.

Dear rigsville,
Thank you for posting on our community.
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with the channels.
If you go into the Technical Information menu on the box, and to go Antenna Signal Information - Here you will see a channel number. This channel number corresponds to the transmitter that you receive a signal from.
Please go to the following website address:
http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/covera...
Please enter your full postcode and house name / number and click ok.
Once your address is shown it will tell you which transmitter you are receiving a signal from.
Click on Trade View - and this will take you into the specific transmitter information.
You will see the channel number that you took from the information menu on the set top box listed under one of the transmitter information.
Take a note of the other channel numbers listed here for your transmitter, these are the group of channels (MUX).
You need to manually scan with your box for each of these channels.
Menu / Receiver Settings / Manual Channel Search / and enter the group channel number you wish to scan for and press ok.
This should bring back the channels for you.
Should this not help, I would recommend you contact our friendly, expert Helpdesk directly on 0845 0900 316 for professional assistance.
Kindest Regards
Marcus. -

Hi Marcus
Thanks for the reply.
I followed the steps you outlined and found it difficult to find the "Channel numbers" on the Digital UK website as described as it wasn't very obvious where these channel numbers were but that's not Sagecom's fault!
I entered what I thought were the correct channel numbers (43,42, and 45) and each one of them found a few of the missing channels
I now have all my channels back - many thanks. -

My Sagem DTR 67500 will not find any stations since the digi. switch over.
My Samsung HD TV has perfect reception and I have my aerial correctly
aligned with the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.
I have tried a factory re-set then auto scan and manual tuning, but the DTR
unit won't find any stations.
Can you advise me what to do please?
Best regards
Martyn Turley

Donald,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I can follow the directions of Marcus but I can't seem to find a transmitter number for Sutton Coldfield.

I should have mentioned that I have tried setting the Antenna Signal Info number to all the channels listed for Sutton Coldfield (different numbers on different sites) then running a channel search: 39 40 42 43 45 46 50. Still it finds no channels.
-
-
I'm also on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter and manually entered the channel numbers of 39 40 42 43 45 46 50 and with each one my system found a couple of channels.
I was running a beta version of the software (v3.2.0) and after a few days my box did an Over The Air (OTA) update and reset itself back to v3.1 and I have to manually find all my channels again!
Again all my other freeview boxes and my other freeview PVR worked perfectly after the switch over.-
Hi Rigsville,
Are your other Freeview units also offering the twin tuner technology(advantage: able to record two programmes at the same time, disadvantage: lower signal reception due to split signal which allows two simultaneous actions)?
This could explain why your Sagemcom unit struggled while your other (possibly more 'basic') units had not been affected.
In any case, we have stopped v3.1.1 and you should be able to upgrade your unit with v3.2.0 again.
Kind regards,
Donald -

1 of my other freeview units (A Humax PVR-9300T) does have twin tuners and after performing an automatic retune worked perfectly. I even used this as my main PVR while I was having problems with my RTI90, connected to the same ariel etc.

Dear Rigsville,
Thank you for posting on the community.
Any feedback and information regarding our set top boxes is always greatly appreciated.
I am aware that the Humax is a dual tuner recording unit similar to the RTI90. I cannot comment however on what kind of internal tuner is installed in the Humax box.
When there are channels missing with the RTI90 box there are various conditions that can cause this;
Work on the transmitters / work on the MUX groups (Channel groups)
I would ask you to check if the Network monitoring option is activated on your set top box.
Menu / User Settings / User Preferences / Network Monitoring.
I hope this helps.
Should this still not resolve the issue I would recommend that you contact our friendly and professional helpdesk on: 0845 0900 316 for expert assistance.
Kindest Regards

I live in the East Midlands and my set top box worked ok 2 weeks ago. I returned from holiday and it now does not work. I have checked the cables and retuned but it can find no channels. However a digital tv connected to the same aerial socket works perfectly with good signal srength

Dear M Kendall,
This thread is already dealing with similar requests and I hope that you will find some useful information. It could indeed have happened that during your holiday there might have been a change of the signal and I therefore recommend to check Marcus' last comment.
Please also consider contacting our support team directly on 08450 900 316 (local call rate) as they can offer in-depth trouble-shooting to find out the reason (and a solution) for this problem.

I have a Sagem DTR 6400T which, on a recent channel update, would not save the channels and now I cannot see any channels and the initialisation screen will not display any more when it starts up.
It has searched and found 80 TV channels and 24 Radio. I am in the UK in the area between Sutton Coldfield transmitter and Wrekin.
Do you have any suggestions about what I can do to get it back to life?

DTR 6400T/6700T - won't store channels.-
Dear Edward,
I have merged your post in this already existing thread and I recommend to read Vik and Marcus' helpful comments to see if this resolves the problem. As you can see, some of the users in this thread are using the Sutton Coldfield transmitter so it could be related to some local signal issues.
Please let us know how you are getting on. Of course, you can always contact our experts directly on 08450 900 316 (local call rate).
Kind regards,

Hi, I am also in the Sutton Coldfield transmitter zone and have followed the steps above. As of Sunday 18th December my RT190-320 T2 keeps loosing Sky News etc. My box can not find channels in group 45 or 40. Both of my portable Freeview TV's are not having this problem.

Hi Vic
I did try the manual channel scan and I was still missing Sky News. I therefore did another factory reset and it has now found them. So fingers crossed it shouldn't lose them again! I have also set the box to network monitoring.
Thanks for the response

Since switchover I have problems in receiving some of the channels - mainly ITV1, Channel 4, Really & ITV3. The message comes up signal problem but it is not the aerial. My television is fine & this only happens on the freewview box. Please help as I am unable to record on these channels.
