I've had 3 boxes from Sagem and they all do they same.
After a recording has finished playing, it just stays on screen at the end instead of exiting back to the TV or back to the recording list. Any plans to change this?

I’m
happy that our users share their ideas with us
Dear Glen,
This is a great idea and we will see if we can implement it for the next RTI90 software update (and most likely for all future ranges).
Thanks and kind regards,

This is not a good idea. This is a very bad idea. What's wrong with pressing Stop or Exit which gets directly to either? At the very least make it a user preference.
I rely on the freeze frame at the end to prevent exit from playback after fast forwarding x600. What happens when editing if you cut-edit to the end? Or if you're reading end credits too close to the end for comfort?
No, this is a non-starter for me. I want to decide when I've finished with playback, not the machine. :-)-
Point well-made. Welcome to the dilemma of a manufacturer ;-)

Well maybe I've overreacted somewhat, edits happen at pauses so the machine could maintain a pause condition, but I still think the other points are strong arguments for keeping the freeze-frame action.
While we're (nearly) on the subject of playback though, some refinement of playback control would be welcome. The DVR/DTR series still outclass the RTi in this area. Editing to GOP precision is possible on the DVR/DTRs, I can barely manage 5 secs on the RTi. You can't even rewind without it skipping forward a little first. I wouldn't say no to slo-mo and frame advance either. :-) -

Fair point pTd, but who else fast forwards X600 to the end of a recording? Or reads the end credits? Usually when the end credits roll, everyone leaves the cinema, makes a cuppa or goes to the toilet :-)
I haven't done much editing with the RTI, but yes the DTR is spot on in this area.
Good idea about the slow-mo and frame advance though. It would be streaming from the buffer so it shouldn't be a problem to set up, but which buttons on the remote would be used? -

Ok, I'll trade x600 for a Goto, then you can have automatic exit :-).
For slomo I don't see any problem doing just as the DTRs do. Pause, then FF for x1/4, x1/2. They stopped short of adding frame advance, for which successive presses of Pause would do. I appreciate the technical difficulty of doing these in reverse playback so I won't press that. But my Thomson DHD4000 predates the RTi by several years and did all of this like a dream. My gold standard for playback control. :-) -

Cool...
There you go Donald, two ideas in the next update.
Slo-mo for pTd and (optional) exit for me.-
:-)
